Former Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah Jilani, who spent more than 50 years in the Pakistan People's Party, is once again contesting against his old friend Syed Ghos Ali Shah from the provincial assembly seat PS 26 Khairpur.

According to Qaim Ali Shah, he participated in the elections for the first time during the regime of former military president General Ayub Khan and became a BD member from Khairpur.

In a conversation with correspondent Urdu News, Qaim Ali Shah said that during his student days, he contested the elections against Mir, Pir and Sardars, who were considered strong at that time, and won. to be continued.

According to Syed Qaim Ali Shah, his date of birth is 1933. He says that he chose only one party in his political career and till date he is a part of the same party i.e. Pakistan Peoples Party.

The opposite candidate of Syed Qaim Ali Shah is Syed Ghos Ali Shah who belongs to Garhi Mori area of ​​Khairpur. He has also served as the Chief Minister of Sindh.

 He was elected as the Chief Minister of Sindh in the non-party elections held during the tenure of General Zia-ul-Haq. Syed Ghos Ali Shah was also part of the Pakistan Muslim League (N) and served as the party's provincial president for many years.

Later, in 2013, Ghous Ali Shah became angry with Nawaz Sharif on the selection of the presidential candidate and contested the election on the platform of the Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA) in the 2018 general elections.

He joined Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf in 2021. In the 2024 general elections, Syed Ghos Ali Shah is contesting as an independent candidate.

Nasir Ali further said that as far as the election campaign of 2024 is concerned, these senior politicians of Sindh are running the election campaign by maintaining their years-old friendship. Both Jalsa take out processions and mingle with people but also maintain a relationship of respect.

 He said that it is generally known here that Sain Qaim Ali Shah and Syed Ghous Ali Shah had separated political paths during their professional days, but both are good friends despite being in opposite parties.

Amir Ali Phalphoto, a resident of Mumtaz Colony Khairpur, says that People's Party has been in government in Sindh for many years and there is a process of honoring them. For years, the same candidate contests and wins.

It is a far-fetched thing for young people to enter politics here, it is difficult for them to do politics. During the student period, students took part in politics, but after leaving the university, they realized that our role is only to raise slogans and raise flags.

According to him, it is not possible for a common man to go to assemblies. The elders contesting elections from here are respectable to us but there is no one to represent the youth from this area.

The era has changed now, people are going to the moon, it is the era of IT, everyone is talking about bringing the youth forward, but who brought them? If the election candidate has not changed here for 50 years, how will our destiny change?'

Amir Ali Phalphoto further said that if you are a supporter of Pakistan People's Party, then everything is easy for you, otherwise it is difficult.

According to Khan Muhammad, a senior journalist from Khairpur, during the tenure of Syed Qaim Ali Shah, a lot of work has been done in Khairpur in various fields including health, education and agriculture.

Development work has been done from the villages of this area to the city due to which the people here have been voting for the People's Party. This area is much better than other areas of Sindh.

He said that two strong candidates Syed Qaim Ali Shah and Syed Ghos Ali Shah are in the field in the general elections from this area. Both have been Chief Ministers and have done a lot of work for the region.

However, Syed Qaim Ali Shah has spent more time in government and is still present among the people, so he has more supporters.

This is a safe constituency of Pakistan Peoples Party. He has defeated Syed Qaim Ali Shah, Syed Ghos Ali Shah in many past elections in this constituency.
